Here's an
update on my handsome boy Titan.
First things first, we would like to thank all the girls at SPCA
Feilding for letting us adopt Titan into our family. He is a
lovely natured dog who loves hugs and cuddles and wants to
please everyone he meets - not sure whether this is the Staffy
or the Labrador in him!
He has settled in really well, gets on great with his brother,
Oscar the cat, and has finally learnt not to chase him! Last
month we graduated from the first stage of obedience school in
Feilding and were awarded the best dog and trainer! Looking at
doing the intermediate course next round. He's learnt to sit,
stay, down, come and his latest tricks are to shake hands and
carry the newspaper inside for me.
He is still uncertain if he gets growled at by us or if voices
get raised - tends to cower down . This gets a bit tricky when
we try to let him know he has done something wrong (like
landscaping the front lawn!) but we are learning more and more
about him and getting around these little issues.
We recently had friends come around to our house who haven't
been here
before and haven't met Titan. Unfortunately we weren't home.
As they
walked through the gate, this great monstrosity of a dog
appeared from
around the side of the house running straight at them. They
said he raced up, promptly laid down in front of them and rolled
over to get a tummy scratch! Just as well we didn't chose him
for his guard dog abilities!
Titan is a much loved mummy's boy and a very welcome member of
our
family!
Thank you
once again for the opportunity to get to know this handsome
young dog and make him ours.
Keep up the fantastic work you all do
Kind regards
Sue and Jeremy
