Hi there,

I adopted a scruffy little puppy called Bengi in June 2007 and we have since renamed him Peter (Pete). He had a bit of a rough start to life with our family, having a bad reaction to his neutering operation and he had to go back to the vets the day after we got him home. Another night with the vets and some intravenous nourishment and he was ready to try coming home for a second time and has just flourished since!

He has become great friends with our Norwegian Elkhound Thor, who patiently puts up with being jumped on, bitten and subjected to his regular enthusiastic puppy attention.

While he can still be a little anxious and can be scared by loud noises, he has a fantastic personality and has just fit in brilliantly with us. He has also turned out to be quite a smart wee guy (if easily distracted) picking up commands (and a few bad habits from Thor) very quickly and we have been amazed at how far he has come!

We are so pleased to have adopted a dog from the SPCA and our experience has been so positive that we will definitely do so again in the future. I am just so glad I saw him on your website last year and decided to come out to Fielding to meet him! Our lives have been so much more fun since he joined our family.

Thank you for giving Peter a great start before he came to us, I think you all do such a fantastic job.
