Lucy

Lucy at 4 weeks of age was found abandoned with her brother and brought into the care off the Feilding SPCA where she was fostered by the late Judy Leach.
I saw Lucy's photo in the paper while I was at work and I thought about her for 2 days. I rang up & was told that someone else was interested in her but if they hadn't contacted the SPCA by that night I could meet Lucy. They didn't contact the SPCA so we were able to see Lucy. My husband & I met Lucy for the first time at Judy's house. We fell in love with Lucy, the wee sweetie, & decided then & there to adopt her. We already had 2 dogs, both rescued from terrible situations, and 2 cats, also with backgrounds of neglect & wondered how they would accommodate a new-comer, all being settled, spoilt and set in their ways! Anyway after a few days of adjustment they all settled together and have become very good companions. Lucy loves Morris, one of the cats, and they sleep together and are always found in each other's company. Dinks, our Blue Heeler, felt that Lucy needed some serious mothering & set to work looking after her! Bentley, the Peke, who is the boss of the household, accepted Lucy after some serious contemplation & the realization that she was here to stay!
Lucy is the most wonderful dog & we love her to bits...she is easy to train, keen to please and has a loving personality. She loves going with us on camping trips & is a keen fisher-dog enjoying the odd bit of pilfered bait!
Thank you to Judy for being such an awesome foster mum for Lucy & giving her such a loving & stable start & to the staff of the SPCA.
Keep up the good work
Dianne
