Kowhai now lives in Waipawa with his new mum, dad and sister Blitz who was also adopted from the Feilding SPCA. Blitz was adopted about 4 years ago on the weekend of the big snowstorm that closed the gorge. I was trapped on the Feilding side of the ranges and my Aunt took me down to the centre to have a look at the cats. Blitz was hanging on the netting begging to be adopted, she was adopted for her bravery in facing the weather and named for the weather. Kowhai was picked straight off the website because he had a really sweet looking little face but we didn’t make a definite decision to adopt him until after Robbie went to see him. He just seemed to take to Robbie and was (and still is) really cuddly and smoochy, and as you can see by the photo Kowhai and Blitz get on very well.
