The Judy Leach
Pet Memorial Page

We dedicate this page to a very special volunteer
who shared her compassion, enthusiasm and love of animals
with everyone she met.
Judy you live on in our hearts and in our work.

Our beautiful centre cat Baby is now in Judy's care

2001 - 2005
Not many people visited the Feilding SPCA without being introduced
to Baby and often she was the first member of staff they met.
Baby was adopted by the staff because she was a kitten that we couldn't
re-home, Yes she was the original ugly duckling and true to the fairy tale
she grew to become a very beautiful cat. Baby had the perfect temperament
for a centre cat. She would more than tolerate all the attention she got
from the public in fact she would demand it. It didn't bother Baby that her fur
was being rubbed the wrong way or that her tail was being tugged
by an over enthusiastic child, as long as she was the centre of attention
she was happy. Baby had the ability to make everything alright, she could sense
when a member of the staff or the public needed some time out and would
enforce it by rubbing around their legs until they picked her up for a cuddle
or jumping up on their knee and insisting on some quality time.
Baby had the staff wrapped around her little paw when it came to
feeding and attention but if she didn't get her favourite food it wasn't a
problem, she would just go and help herself and when it was time for
a cuddle then it really didn't matter what you were doing,
paperwork would have to be put aside, the cleaning would just have to wait
until she had your full attention. If baby couldn't be bothered getting down
from the rafters on her own there was always someone there to climb
the ladder and get her down, or if she didn't feel it was time to get down
then someone would be sure to organise a bowl of food and water
right up there in the rafters with her. Baby was a very special cat.
Unfortunately Baby suddenly became very ill in October and although the staff
and vets did everything they could she lost her battle to live.
We miss you Baby but know you are in Judy's care now.

 Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together
